Marcus Casano's 6X6 Elk

Mississippi Bowhunters Association member Marcus Casano of Flowood, MS took this fine 6 X 6 bull elk in Colorado (Grand County Unit 18) on 9/22/2010.

Marcus purchased the Arapaho Wilderness Outfitters Elk hunt at the Spring MBA live auction bow hunt at the 2010 Annual Awards Banquet held at Grenada, MS.

Marcus shot his bull using a Bowtech Destroyer 340 compound bow, Truglo Sites, a Carbon Force arrow tipped with a 100 grain G5 Montec broadhead. It was a 38 yard quartering away shot and he only made it 60 yards before going down for good.

Marcus' 6 X 6 bull has been officially scored by Corey Neil (official P&Y scorer for the MBA) with a net score of 284 'and some change'. Marcus almost 'sealed the deal' on a 7 X 7 and his dad had a 6 X 6 (350 class) at 18 yards but the timber was too thick.
